About this artwork
With "Bacchus & Ariadne," I wanted to reinterpret one of the most famous myths, transposing it into a contemporary and fragmented universe. This collage on Plexiglas, created in 2022, mixes classical figures with elements of our daily lives, advertisements, and urban forms.
The composition is complex, depicting several intertwined figures. It features the figures of Bacchus and Ariadne, as well as surrealist elements, such as a figure with cybernetic… prosthetics. The background is an explosion of colors and text, including "ID.3," which anchors the work in our time. The transparency of the Plexiglas gives depth to the whole and allows the different layers of paper to interact with each other.
This 101.5 x 130 cm work is a major piece that explores how myths persist and reinvent themselves in a constantly changing world.

NENTAL explores the collision between image and transparency. Through plexiglass, he reinvents advertising posters torn from urban walls, revealing their hidden poetry and subtle violence. His works, made of shredded paper and fragmented slogans, become contemporary mirrors: we see as much society as we see ourselves. The plexiglass reflects, protects, and creates distance; the posters, for their part, recount the memory of a world saturated with messages. Between collage, light, and irony, NENTAL composes a visual archaeology of the present—an art of recycling and reflection, where each fragment becomes an echo of reality.
