"2 Horses" (Wild Series) | By Nico A. Urquiza
This imposing work belongs to my acclaimed "Wild Series." Through a complex mixed media technique, combining synthetic paint, black acrylic, dynamic markers, touches of yellow oil paint, and a focal point of vibrant red like an ovum, I achieve a composition of overwhelming, primal force.
The piece is a whirlwind of graphic elements and textures that blur the animal form to focus on instinct and pure… movement. The contrast between the gestural black lines and the subtle chromatic gradations creates an almost telluric depth.
Nicolás A. Urquiza, an Argentinian trained in drawing, painting, and sound and image design in Buenos Aires, explores the intersection of traditional and digital art using oil, sculpture, glitch art, photocopies, and animation. His techniques range from hyperrealism to automatic drawing and what he calls "cubism in motion," where he combines reduction, margin manipulation, and simultaneous perspectives, creating introspective and experimental works. His pieces convey a profound existential and cathartic presence, inviting the viewer to experience a renewal of perception and a meditative connection with the Polish-Pataphysical here-and-now.
