This detail shows the pins holding a figure on a panel of the Silver Altar of St. John the Baptist, housed in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo in Florence.
This work was begun in 1367 and completed in 1483. This truly impressive work was entirely financed by the Arte di Calimala, which did not skimp on funding for the nearly 400 kilos of silver needed, nor for the artists who worked on it: Michelozzo, Bernardo Cennini, Antonio del Pollaiolo, Andrea… Verrocchio, Giuliano da Maiano, Lorenzo Ghiberti and others.
Nicolò Orsi Battaglini, a Florentine photographer with roots in medicine, brings his analytical and curious spirit to photography, focusing on discovering and highlighting often overlooked details. His images are born from careful observation, without a predefined style, as the subject itself suggests the most appropriate technique. His works invite the viewer to grasp the extraordinary poetry contained in the apparent simplicity of everyday life, inspiring wonder and introspection. His photographs are printed one at a time only on cotton paper for a maximum of 5 numbered copies
