About this artwork
A narrow strip of light traverses the horizontal expanse of this work, opening a space between darkness and light. Whether it is the first glimmer of a new day or the quiet afterglow of evening remains deliberately ambiguous.
It is precisely this ambiguity that lends the image its special intensity. The light does not appear isolated, but rather in interplay with the surrounding, darker color gradients. It arises in the space in between – where… contrast and stillness meet.
"Quiet Glimmer of Light" explores transitions without defining them. The work invites the viewer to pause and engage with those moments that are neither a clear beginning nor a definitive end.
As part of the MEERweh series, this painting represents the emotional vastness of the sea and those quiet moments when depth and light enter into dialogue with each other.
Nicole Filsinger discovered her love of painting and color as a child. She began experimenting with various painting techniques at an early age, later with airbrushing—which earned her her first commissions at the age of 17. Today, her focus is on acrylic painting.
Her works are created in multiple layers, in which colors, patterns, and textures merge into deep, vibrant compositions. Sometimes a central motif takes center stage; at other times, the image as a whole invites immersion—like a window into another world.
Nicole finds inspiration especially in nature: tropical plants, the ocean, landscapes. Her paintings radiate calm, lightness, and longing.
Her art is intuitive, expressive and ever-changing – it touches not only the eye but also the soul.
