About this artwork
“earthbound skywards” is an ongoing series of works that explores the tension between earthbound connection and upward movement. The works are created through a process-oriented approach involving layering, superimposition, and the alternation of density and reduction.
The works are conceived as a reflection on human conditions: rootedness, burden, longing, and upliftment. Each painting develops slowly and in several phases, as the creation of… depth, structure, and atmospheric tension are central components of the process.
“earthbound skywards” represents a coherent period in my artistic development, in which the themes of earth, body, space, and transcendence are interrelated. The works function individually, but unfold their full effect in dialogue as a cycle.
