Water sounds 1, is how linear is close to the volume, figure, portrait, but at the same time the clean abstract elements of black shapes are alluding towards another perspective and another space and time. The plastic elements are saying thank you but we are here to stay and enjoy ourselves. This relationship creates the sound, the sound of water as we can feel the motion between these two. It also contains absolutely dull grey background of immense… light that is laughing on both of them at he same time.
Nikola Savic, born in Belgrade, Serbia, 1973. Nikola lives and works in London since he completed his master’s degree in fine art at the Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design in 1999. Nikola explores, the colour and form in his paintings in a kind of neo formalist way, where the colour is in the most of his paintings super flat but strongly led by hard edged and reconstructed mechanical sort of forms. Literally this is some sort of new abstract order where square and monochrome elements (under the speed of everyday and sort of imminent must have society) are turning into biomorphic shapes. Nikola Savic works are in the collections of Dr. Takashige Shimizu, Tokyo; Museum of Contemporary Art, Belgrade; European Diamonds Plc, London; Bank of America Merrill Lynch, London; Rollo Contemporary, London; Salon Vert, London; Christiaan Rook London; Zvono Gallery Belgrade, American Embassy Belgrade; Radix Collection Belgrade; and many more private collections in Europe, Far East and USA.
