About this artwork
I painted this piece as a celebration of resilience and quiet strength. The banana plant, with its broad torn leaves and emerging flower, became for me a symbol of growth through adversity: each split in a leaf tells of wind and storm, yet the plant stands tall, unfurling new life. I layered the background in silver leaf to evoke the way light catches on leaves at dawn reflective, luminous, but also fragile
