About this artwork
These are the faces of my peers, bright and vivid, reflecting an age full of opportunities and bold ideas. Yet, the challenges of our time, social and climate crises, are etched into them as well, present both in our expressions and in our thoughts. This is our fate, our burden, the call of our era. Hiding from it is no solution. So here we stand, in a unique mix: a party-coloured background overlaid with a bitter, oily-black film that touches everything.

Olesya Gonserovskaya is a multidisciplinary artist with a rich background, working across painting, textiles, printmaking, kinetic art, media installations, video, drawing, sculpture, sewing, and digital arts. She employs collaborative techniques with “sensitive matter” such as ink, plants, compost, and solar energy, merging traditional craftsmanship with contemporary approaches and assemblages. Her layered projects deconstruct cultural codes, provoke open-ended interpretation, and invite viewers to experience ecology, psychology, and anthropology with empathy and wit; her art offers a vital emotional openness—embracing humor, reflection, and the unpredictable richness of life itself.
