About this artwork
When the winds blow, the elements are unleashed, everything is movement. Driven by this force of Nature which it is impossible to resist, they fly away, to follow their destiny. They glide on the waves of air without knowing where and when they will arrive. They are thousands and hundreds of thousands, they are all similar, and at the same time each one is unique, and his journey will not be identical to his traveling companions. In this tumult,… in this uncertainty, two of them found each other. They recognized each other from afar and snuggled up against each other in order to continue their journey together at all costs.
Several hundred recycled plastic sheets were needed to create this painting. Each shape has been hand cut from white milk packaging plastics. Subsequently they were painted, sorted, arranged in a very precise order on the MDF panel which was also painted beforehand. Then each sheet was fixed individually in order to create this moving and voluminous mass. Many hours
Olga Aleksandrova is an artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Monaco and Russia. In addition, her art has been featured in publications such as Ateliers D'Art and C de L'ART. Aleksandrova is particularly fascinated by the expressiveness, plasticity, and rhythms of trees. Through her artistic practice, she continuously seeks to renew herself, leading her towards stylized silhouettes, the superposition of shapes, and color that is often dissociated from the image.
