About this artwork
Inspired by the story of the legendary Carmen and the ballet of the same name, this passionate pastel painting was created. Carmen embodies fire, freedom, beauty, and inner strength – qualities reflected in the sweeping folds of her dress, her confident gaze, and the dynamism of her pose.
The vibrant colors – red, orange, and violet – represent emotions such as love, pride, and rebellion. The dancer seems to step directly from the curtain onto the… stage of life – sensual, proud, and full of energy. The soft yet dramatic color gradient in the background enhances the depth and movement of the moment.
"Karmen" makes an impressive statement in living rooms, bedrooms and workspaces, creative studios as well as public areas such as hotel lobbies or restaurants, adding a sensual, elegant touch.
The painting is sold framed. The glazed wooden frames were specially made for this work.
Olga Milova uses watercolor, acrylic, oil, ink, and pastel, as well as structural materials, inspired by her architectural training in Ukraine. Using combined techniques and flowing lines, she creates harmonious, profound compositions that poetically unite nature, flowers, feminine forms, and architecture. Her works exude an atmosphere of calm, balance, and quiet, timeless beauty.
