About this artwork
Oil paint gives me the freedom to build light and texture with vibrant energy. This work was inspired by the warmth of summer fields and the brilliance of poppies glowing under the sun. Through bold color contrasts and expressive palette knife strokes, I sought to capture the joy and rhythm of nature in full bloom. The painting was exhibited at the City Hall Exhibition Hall in Valencia, Spain.
Olga Shangina is a Ukrainian painter trained in contemporary arts and design, who transitioned from a career in finance to follow her passion for art. She is renowned for her contemporary expressionism, utilizing mixed media—texture pastes, acrylics, alcohol inks, and luminous gold leaf—to create richly layered, dynamic surfaces. Her technique embodies contrasts of softness and intensity, symbolizing the resilience and hope found within human fragility, and each piece radiates a profound sense of harmony, optimism, and deep emotional reflection.
