Bloom #24 is a minimalistic paper pulp sculpture that explores transformation and renewal through recycled materials, giving new life to discarded paper scraps from previous projects. Delicate circular forms are hand-shaped from paper pulp and dried to create a subtle shell-like texture.
The front surfaces are painted with matte ultramarine acrylic, while the reverse sides are finished with liquid gold leaf, emphasizing beauty emerging through transformation… and reuse. Arranged in a circular composition resembling a blooming bouquet, the forms balance fragility and resilience.
The work draws inspiration from the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, which embraces imperfection, impermanence, and natural processes. References to kintsugi, the art of repairing broken objects with gold, symbolize renewal, healing, and the creation of beauty through visible transformation.
The work is mounted on a gessobord, protected with museum-grade anti-glare acrylic, and framed in a white wood frame.
« It takes a lot of passion to be an artist; art has no end point of perfection and you must constantly evolve and learn. I intend for each viewer to feel an emotional response to my works by sharing through my universe of artistic expression. »
