About this artwork
This piece was on show in the Hybridart Space Gallery in Budapest (Hungary) at the solo exhibition entitled "COLOSSI — Noise and silence again" in February 2022.
The artwork shows a small creature facing the greatness of mother nature.
According to Schopenhauer when we lose ourselves in the contemplation of the infinite extent of the world in space and time then we feel ourselves reduced to nothing, feel ourselves as individuals, as living bodies,… a transient appearances of the will, like drops in the ocean, fading away, melting away into nothing. But at the same time our immediate consciousness is that all these worlds really exist only in our representation. The magnitude of the world, which we used to find unsettling, is now settled securely within ourselves...
yellow, stripe, blue, white, cliff, rock, inspired by US National Parks, contrast between small and colossal, symbolic

« Even if the successful creation is accomplished, an eternal and obstinate duality is born: the creative process is as short as a moment, and it is also never-ending. »
