About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture the ethereal essence of a figure amidst a sea of abstract emotions. I used acrylic paint to create layers and textures that convey mystery and serenity, while the green and blue tones strive for a balance between nature and soul. Oscar Alvarez Pardo is an experienced Spanish painter with international exposure. Composing acrylic and watercolor works on paper, he stylistically switches between the realistic and fantastical whilst maintaining an emotional narrative line in each piece. Inspired by Edward Hopper and Steve Hanks, he represents themes such as tenderness, romance and loneliness with equal parts observational sensitivity and nostalgic cheekiness.
