About this artwork
Sunset censored was made in 2013, in the heydays of Julian Assange, Chelsea Manning and Ed Snowden. They all have paid a big price to reveal the thruth about US surveilance to the world. Manning revealed a tape of an airstrike that killed among others two Reuter-journalists. Manning was sentenced to 35 years, but was released this summer. Assange is imprisoned, Snowden fleed to Russia. What we started to see was stories from governments filtered… through PR-agencies, where almost all media tends to have the same twist of the truth. The propaganda-truth to create acceptance for invasion of Iraq, spying, dronekilling, war and revolutions, as a handbook to deceive public opinion. I painted the painting like on a toiletwall in an Italian restaurant, because thats probably the only place you can express some truths without beeing spied upon.
« Maybe man is better defined by his questions than by his answers. Does God believe in You? Would you trade all paintings of Jesus against ONE photo? »

He primarily employs acrylics and oils on canvas.
