About this artwork
Painting inspired by San Bernardino of Siena, a gigantic figure in the history of the Church and of Franciscanism: after the death of the Saint of Assisi he entered the Franciscan Order (1402), renewing it. Therefore the imaginary portrait of Saint Francis dominates the scene as the greatest inspiration in the journey of faith of Saint Bernardino who shows the "Oriflamme", the famous emblem of Christ, created by him: it was spread everywhere, even… on the facade of the Palazzo Pubblico in Siena . The veneration of the faithful is symbolically depicted by a prostrate man and a reverent woman with the lively and joyful participation of children. The work is shaped with vibrant passion, mixing acrylics, India ink and refined enamels. My expressionist and figurative touches dance between realism and fine art, telling a story that speaks directly to the soul. Each brushstroke transmits a spiritual and intimate message, hoping to awaken an energy of reflection and inner peace in your hearth.
« 'Beauty will save the world' by Dostoevsky is a symbolic phrase for me because of the therapeutic, magical, and mysterious content inherent in the logic of art. »
