"Come to my loving heart, my beautiful cat: hold your claws and let me sink into your beautiful eyes, mixed with agate and metal": this is how Charles Baudelaire inspired me to create this work. The woman with a glass of wine in her left hand, lying in the arms of her beloved, seems to sink her gaze into the "window on the world" which seems to offer her the presence of a cat turned towards her. He is represented from behind, but he is the true dominator… of the scene. I infused the essence of introspection and human complexity into the painting, working with passion. The oil, through thick and full-bodied brushstrokes, with vivid but earthy colours, allowed me to shade and layer the emotions, creating an intimate dialogue between the subjects and the observer. My work aims to explore the fragility and intrinsic strength of the human soul, embodied in faces full of symbolism. It brings an energy of deep emotional reflection to every environment.
« 'Beauty will save the world' by Dostoevsky is a symbolic phrase for me because of the therapeutic, magical, and mysterious content inherent in the logic of art. »
