About this artwork
In my work I wanted to capture the lively energy and intrinsic movement of the Tuscan countryside through a painting that portrays a couple of friends who, riding their motorbike, a symbol of freedom and adventure, travel exciting roads among the Tuscan hills, where the sun paints golden expanses among endless vineyards. Using watercolor, tempera and ink, I represented figures in symbiosis with the landscape that merges with the warm colors of the…
sunset and the tall cypress trees that, emphasizing the sense of movement and direction, seem to emanate their scent soaked in the sun-kissed earth. The motorcyclists seem wrapped in a warm embrace, while they discover ancient villages among the vineyards that reveal stories handed down over time, immersing themselves in Tuscany, a living painting and celebration of the timeless beauty of art, food and wine excellence and rural life.

Paola Imposimato is an award-winning painter and draftsman whose works have been extensively exhibited throughout her native Italy, as well as in Austria and France. She defines her artistic style as "contemporary Renaissance", as it has a solid figurative base that is also structured on Greco-Roman art. Imposimato is often inspired by portraiture (of real and imaginary characters), the range of human emotions, poetry, historical re-enactments, the world of music and theater.
