About this artwork
In this piece from the Transformations series, the work begins with a cracked material texture, enriched with subtle hints of gold, from which the color progressively lightens as it moves upwards. The painted surface becomes a place of transformation, where the material lightens and opens up to the light.
The painting explores a form of symbolic sublimation: an initially restrained energy that slowly emerges, like a dream taking shape or a thought… freeing itself from the weight of reality. The chromatic transition and layering suggest an ascending movement, a striving for lightness and inner elevation.
The work invites the observer to silent contemplation, evoking an intense and enveloping atmosphere, in which passion, mystery and depth coexist in balance.
Paola Morandi, with a basic training in acrylics, oils and watercolors, explores the artistic language. Using acrylic for semi-abstracts and watercolor for representations of nature, his style is synthetic but never hyper-realistic, with preferences for impressionism. Morandi's works, inspired from within and without herself, emanate the blazing interludes between nature and humanity, rich in palpable emotions.
