About this artwork
In this watercolor painting, I've attempted to portray both the presence and absence of trees through the ethereal beauty of a mystical forest. These ghostly bare trees silhouetted against the dark and somewhat mysterious background are designed to evoke a sense of intrigue and curiosity, bringing an energy that is both tranquil and thought-provoking into any space. This piece invites the viewer into the forest to contemplate the strength and serenity… to be found there.
Swenson, entrenched in theatre and visual art since childhood, now champions watercolors and mixed media, delicately merging realism with impressionistic inklings. Utilizing block printing, collagraph, and pen and ink, along with watercolor, she crafts textures that breathe life into her subjects. Emotionally, she directs our gaze to Mother Nature's simple magic, fostering an immersive dialogue of connectivity and reflection.
