About this artwork
The Chartres Labyrinth is located in Chartres Cathedral in France. The labyrinth of black and gray stone slabs, made in the early 13th century, is carved into the cathedral floor. This was the basis for a cycle of abstract paintings. It is a reworked woodcut with acrylic on canvas. This is picture two - more to come!

Peppi Spiss is a painter and draftsman based in Austria whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Hungary, the United States, Italy, Germany, and Turkey. He describes his artistic practice as occuring impulsively and being marked by experimentation with varying techniques. Whether abstract or realistic, Spiss's pieces are always an expression of his personal atttitude towards life.
