About this artwork
Early on I learned to paint by copying Egyptian Paintings found on the tombs of the Pharaohs. My style has always imitated the flat two dimensional works. The poses are static and in this case Cat Man Dreams of Fish God, there is a certain unworldly quality like a dream. The cat is thinking I love his cologne, and he also wonders what he taste like, thus the fish bones above his head. The fish god is all powerful and knows the cat can't overpower…
him. The fish god knows he can crush him in his fish hands quite easily, but tries to be friendly towards the cat who is very passive aggressive. This painting is oil on canvas and it fits into the idea of animals doing things that humans do.

Peter Locascio is an American artist whose works have been widely exhibited in the United States. He believes that creating art is more of a spiritual journey than a materialistic one. Locascio's compositions are inspired by Aboriginal, Native American, and Hindu art forms, etc. While some of his pieces convey narratives, others are simply whimsical.
