About this artwork
This is the angel that you see when you are about to die from a wound by an AR-15 rifle. These rifles are used in most mass killings in USA. The sale of these guns are outlawed in Illinois. In 2022 a 17 year old boy opened fire on people attending a parade on July 4th 2022. Seven people were killed and 48 were wounded. This hit close to home for me! Politicians know these guns are killing their constituents but they would rather take money from… the gun lobby then outlaw these guns. The next time a mass shooting takes place, the death angel will be there to take you to heaven. He will also take the gunmen to hell!
« Each painting I make is a search for a spiritual understanding of who I am as an artist and who I can become as a human being. »
Peter Locascio is an American artist whose works have been widely exhibited in the United States. He believes that creating art is more of a spiritual journey than a materialistic one. Locascio's compositions are inspired by Aboriginal, Native American, and Hindu art forms, etc. While some of his pieces convey narratives, others are simply whimsical. He favors painting with oils on canvas.
