This work is about the festival mood. The energy felt when a large crowd sings and sways to the beat. The artist feels this special energy when she celebrates carnival in Cologne. She loves this vibe. In this painting you can see not only the action painting typical of the artist Petra Heck, but also deliberately placed brushstrokes. This means that this picture was partly created lying on the floor, with the paint being poured and sprayed, and partly…
on the easel, where accents were set with deliberately set brushstrokes. The many layers of paint, some of which have been scratched off, are very special in this picture. Once even the garden hose had to be used to remove too much paint. The work is signed on the back.
