About this artwork
This painting is a state of mind between turbulence and tranquility.
I had painted this canvas, during the night, directly in the gallery where I had my exhibition at the time, in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district of Paris.
The painting was part of the collection called “Oxygen”.
I had a certain energy as well as a terrible fear of the unknown, a new life was beginning for me in the French capital.
I find it difficult to part with this canvas,… its deep blues mixed with flashes of red and white, evoking a constantly changing watercourse under a stormy sky.
It is an invitation to embrace the endless streams of life, while finding peace in its impertinence.
That's what I did myself.
This painting, vibrant with emotion and movement, will bring dynamism and depth to any living space as well as the energy necessary for any new beginning.
Petra Marian is an artist who expresses herself through oil painting as well as textiles. This is her complete heritage, inherited from both her parents. For her paintings, she uses oversized knives and tools to create large-scale canvases, translating her freedom through powerful, broad strokes of the trowel.
These tools are particularly suited to his impulsive temperament.
Fascinated by noble spirits and traditions, her works are dominated by energy and spirituality.
From a very young age, she was passionate about drawing, colors, mathematics, history, and embroidery, pursuing economic studies at a prestigious university in Babes-Bolyai. A true paradox. Her nature is completely ambidextrous, her skills are multidisciplinary.
In 2002, Guadeloupe, in the West Indies, became his island.
Her workshops took shape between Guadeloupe, Romania and then in Paris and the Paris region where she currently works.
