About this artwork
I conceived this work as a vision of a primordial civilization — a world that exists prior to history, yet feels strangely familiar. In this painting, architecture, nature, and consciousness form a single, unified organism.
The central structure operates as a closed system, where movement has no clear beginning or end. Intersecting circular forms create a continuous flow, as if the composition is folding into itself, suggesting a non-linear sense… of time.
The forms evoke fragments of memory — temples, landscapes, and symbolic structures emerging from a collective unconscious.
Working in oil on canvas, I built the composition through layered geometry and organic transitions, balancing control and fluidity. A palette of deep greens and muted tones evokes a sense of ancient stillness.
This work was presented at a group exhibition at Portal 11 Gallery in Kyiv.
Born in Ukraine and trained in monumental painting, Philipp Kapustin blends traditional and digital mediums. His style, "digital neo-cubism," interweaves analytical cubism, sacred geometry, and visionary symbolism, crafting structured compositions charged with rhythmic layers and poetic tension. Through his works, Kapustin embarks on a profound interplay between chaos and order, engaging viewers in a dialogue with unseen forces, capturing inner resistance and existential resonance.
