About this artwork
Acrylic on canvas in a beautiful format for this landscape of spots in the shape of flowers. Flower landscape like a poem by Baudelaire.
I want, to chastely compose my eclogues,
Sleep with the sky, like the astrologers,
And, near the bell towers, listen while dreaming
Their solemn hymns carried by the wind.
Both hands on my chin, from the top of my attic,
I will see the workshop that sings and chatters;
The pipes, the bell towers, these masts… of the city,
And the big skies that make you dream of eternity.

And, near the bell towers, listen while dreaming
Their solemn hymns carried by the wind.
Both hands on my chin, from the top of my attic,

« Painting and creation, in general, are the best ways to deliver what words cannot say. »
Philippe Abril is an award-winning French painter who has exhibited in both solo and group events nationally. Within his works, he conveys his amazement of having ‘landed on this fabulous planet’. Abril’s naive narrative paintings are mostly made using acrylics, as its fast drying qualities give him the freedom to mix other mediums more easily.
