About this artwork
I created the works called Forms to suggest a pictorial phase somewhat subsequent to the Cogitationes. This is not because they contain a unique and objective definition of the image, but because the Forms offer the viewer a meaningful structure through which the work manifests itself to perception, thus orienting the gaze and the sense. Here too, the work and the viewer form a single whole, the repeatability of which, however, cannot be ruled out.… The technique used is pigmented paste with metal inserts.
Piero Lombardi is a painter with a background in management and consulting, experimenting with colors, materials, and unconventional techniques to express his feelings. His art is rooted in an informal geometric style with a strong material content. His works are intended to engage the viewer, engaging them in their interpretation and creating a unique and unrepeatable whole, composed of the painting and the viewer.
Some of the quotes in the blog on the website www.pierolombardi.com well describe the thoughts and emotions that have guided and continue to guide his personal adventure in art.
