About this artwork
I created the works called Cogitationes, inspired by the philosopher E. Husserl, referring to the acts of consciousness with which the observer of a work gives an individual interpretation of it as they engage with it. As in quantum mechanics, where observation contributes to the manifestation of the observed objects, the act of thought is constitutive of the way the work presents itself to the viewer. The work and the observer become a unique and… unrepeatable whole (cogitatio). The creation technique is pigmented paste.
Piero Lombardi is a painter with a background in management and consulting, experimenting with colors, materials, and unconventional techniques to express his feelings. His art is rooted in an informal geometric style with a strong material content. His works are intended to engage the viewer, engaging them in their interpretation and creating a unique and unrepeatable whole, composed of the painting and the viewer. Some of the quotes in the blog on the website www.pierolombardi.com well describe the thoughts and emotions that have guided and continue to guide his personal adventure in art.
