About this artwork
In this watercolor painting, I wanted to capture the vibrant yet melancholic atmosphere of the city at sunset. The lines of the viaduct intertwine, conveying the urban dynamism with a human and intimate touch. The warm tones convey an enveloping light, bringing energy and reflection to every space in which this work is displayed.
I'm an artist of French origins but have always lived in Rome. I'm an architect, and this is reflected in my work: I dedicate myself to painting, particularly watercolor drawing, and architectural sketching, mediums I discovered through various experiences and experimentation. The pictorial path I've undertaken focuses on the representation of places in the city of Rome: not, however, well-known views, but rather the capital's lesser-known, or less canonical, urban realities. I'm referring to the suburbs but also to places of passage, that is, all those intersections often experienced by most citizens, ourselves included, but which have very rarely been the subject of representation: the San Lorenzo neighborhood, to which I am attached and to which I dedicate many works, is a case in point.
