About this artwork
At the beginning of Fine Arts, I was shaken by the expressionist movement (including Ludwig Kirchner, Edward Munch, Emil Nolde, and Arnulf Rainer). I found in their work the resonance and the jolts of a dark and painful energy, captive and yet luminous, which I needed to release. This energy was so strong that it swept like a tidal wave the 'illustrative' framework in which my painting had been confined until then.
This is how I abandoned the figurative… for the abstract, the cut-out form for explosion, the flat areas for effects (dripping, dripping, wiping, etc.). Thus, my painting gained in power and vitality and above all, it became sensitive, that is to say capable of expressing the mixture of “Chaos and Light” which forms the nebula of my being.
