"War and Peace"
This oil painting is not just a static image, but a cry from the heart. In the center of the composition is the Virgin Mary with the baby. Her gaze, full of sadness and quiet reproach, is directed directly at the viewer, prompting one to think about the eternal confrontation between war and peace. The baby, with innocent curiosity and incomprehension in his eyes, looks at the surrounding chaos. War is presented in all its merciless… fury: soldiers fight fiercely, tanks advance on the scorched earth, military aircraft furrow the sky.
Despite all our technological advances, from artificial intelligence to space satellites, we seem doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. Wars for resources, territory and dominance remain a terrible reality of our world, just like two thousand years ago.
This work asks painful questions: do we have the right to send our children, who have been nurtured with such love, to their deaths for the sake of the for elites?
