About this artwork
This work, entitled PROFILE 3, is a representation of an anonymous character but which is at the same time plural through the multiple colors of fabrics glued to the face. Since he
works on a concept which is called Mix-Weaving, it associates different cultures and here
he is trying to find a solution to the dark period of crisis that we are going through. So
it features a human in his atmosphere and who connects with the world around him and… the character is an unknown profile dressed in the traditional way in big Senegalese boubou and with a Nigerian collar and 3d glasses to place the subject in a context of modernity and futurism. So he challenges humans despite our differences to remain strong and united to create peace and unity, to tap into our identity and to open up to others. We are all different, but by bonding, our world will be better.

Khadim GUEYE known as Kha Bamba was born on October 20, 1991 in Diourbel, Senegal. He lives and works in Dakar, precisely in Hamo 6, Guédiawaye. In 2013 he passed the entrance exam to the National School of Arts of Senegal (ENA) for training in visual arts and obtained his National Diploma of Fine Arts (DNBA) in 2017, graduating with honors in visual communication. Inspired by his mother, a seamstress, and his uncle, artist Papa Ibra TALL, who did tapestry, a precursor of art in Senegal, he chose textiles as a medium and which he considers a material that has the power to define the identity of a community or a country. His works have been exhibited nationally and internationally. His vibrant abstract expressionist pieces are a fusion of cultures, traditions, and the exploration of his own identity and humanity in general. Kha Bamba combines embroidery and painting techniques with textiles and acrylics on canvas or fabric.
