About this artwork
The place where I was born is in the tropical monsoon region, Hanoi is the city I live in, the time of season change between summer and autumn is so brilliant and beautiful. When winter comes, we crave the feeling of bright and brilliant sunshine. Summer is sunny but it has its own beauty. In this season, there are many kinds of tropical fruit in the main season. On the street, carts sell fresh fruit and snacks.
On the green roads, bright sunshine… covers the streets. Every time the sunset falls, the sun shines on the noisy and bustling streets. Summer comes, the phoenix flowers are brilliant, the flowers are shimmering and brilliant. Quan Le is an artist based in Vietnam whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. He is currently living and working in Hanoi. For nearly eighteen years of oil painting, he paints what his heart can feel, not what eyes can see. Most of them are in an exciting impressionist style, with a blend of cubism, expressionism and semi-abstract contemporary. The themes of landscapes, architecture and urban areas are simplified to a certain extent, leaving most of it for memory. For him, painting is when he digs up the chaotic and fragmented memories of his poor, rugged and destitute childhood to bring the viewers to another joyful world, a neverland, a memory of the season far away.
