About this artwork

Another autumn passed quickly, the afternoon rain rushed. The city transforms from late autumn to winter. In the afternoon, on the street, the scent of milk flowers is fragrant at the end of the season, and the years have passed. At the end of autumn, my city often experiences many monsoon storms, rain teeth get stuck in the path, wet and sad, and the memories of expatriates flood back. It seems that winter is on the way, in the cold will flow with… the wind, there is a bit of dryness, dryness and chills of early winter. Far away on the horizon, the afternoon was full of hope, bringing a bit of sunshine after a long rain. The city after four months of lockdown has gradually woken up, like a sleepy girl yawning, writhing in anxiety, all activities are still sparse. The afternoon rain splashed with water, the silhouette of a cyclo cyclist stretched out on an empty boulevard...

Quan Le is an artist based in Vietnam whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. He is currently living and working in Hanoi. For nearly eighteen years of oil painting, he paints what his heart can feel, not what eyes can see. Most of them are in an exciting impressionist style, with a blend of cubism, expressionism and semi-abstract contemporary. The themes of landscapes, architecture and urban areas are simpliﬁed to a certain extent, leaving most of it for memory. For him, painting is when he digs up the chaotic and fragmented memories of his poor, rugged and destitute childhood to bring the viewers to another joyful world, a neverland, a memory of the season far away.
