About this artwork
True to my way of doing things, I started by constructing the surface with an abstract "all-over". Using what seemed to resemble an eye, I constructed the face while retaining the “memories” of successive layers.

Rémi Jouandet is an award-winning artist based in France whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in Canada and England. Over the past few years, his artistic expression has contentrated almost exluslively on the human figure. Jouandet creates intuitively and spontaneously, "spreading" color on several canvases in rapid succesion, returning later to "discover them", then adding the figurative elements. He primarily employs acrylics on canvas.
