About this artwork
I liked the first abstract draft of the painting. I wanted an economy of means, using accidents as much as possible, and focused on the gaze.

Rémi Jouandet is an award-winning artist based in France whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in Canada and England. Over the past few years, his artistic expression has contentrated almost exluslively on the human figure. Jouandet creates intuitively and spontaneously, "spreading" color on several canvases in rapid succesion, returning later to "discover them", then adding the figurative elements. He primarily employs acrylics on canvas.
