About this artwork
I started this painting with an "all over abstract" on a yellow background. The superpositions of layers gave dark ochres more or less supported by the addition of traces of purple. I then installed the subject using the most suggestive "traces".

Rémi Jouandet is an award-winning artist based in France whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in Canada and England. Over the past few years, his artistic expression has contentrated almost exluslively on the human figure. Jouandet creates intuitively and spontaneously, "spreading" color on several canvases in rapid succesion, returning later to "discover them", then adding the figurative elements. He primarily employs acrylics on canvas.
