About this artwork
In this drawing, I poured intense emotional tension, blending figurative elements with surreal touches. The use of print on canvas, colored pencils, and oil paints create a frenetic rhythm that brings out the subject's complex and contradictory feelings. I wanted to make the figure's soul vibrate, conveying energy and restlessness, transforming reality into a vivid, pulsating dream. This work enlivens any space with its expressionist power.
Raffaele Carsana primarily works with painting and printmaking, drawing on his training at the Brera Art School. His works emerge from a continuous, instinctive line, influenced by the subconscious, enriched with minute details on Fabriano paper and retouched with oil paints. His style, coupled with ironic storytelling, transforms images into visual narratives that intrigue and surprise. Carsana aims to leave a lasting impression on the viewer, sparking curiosity and bringing a smile through his unmistakable wit.
