About this artwork
In this triptych, the artist invites us into a lush, pressurized paradise where the boundary between the observer and the observed dissolves. While the artist mentions a departure from their signature "refraction" style, the echoes of that technique remain in the rhythmic, prismatic application of color. This isn't just a painting of birds; it is a painting of the energy that birds occupy.
The Symphony of Form
The three panels act as movements… in a visual concerto. By loosening the grip of strict geometric refraction, the artist allows for a more organic, fluid movement. We see:
The Left Panel: A vertical ascent. The taller, wading birds at the bottom ground the composition, while smaller, jewel-toned species flit through the canopy above.
The Center Panel: The "Heart" of the triptych. A majestic, parrot-like figure dominates the vertical axis, its plumage a kaleidoscope of reds, yellows, and violets.
« A blank canvas is like a hot nude. I can’t resist the temptation of working on it. The vice versa is also true. »
