About this artwork
According to this three-step process (trace – image – God), our soul (mens) has three fundamental directions of view.
The first glance is directed towards external things, and from this perspective they are also called "liveliness" or "sensory gifts".
The other is directed inwards, into itself, and in this respect it is called "spiritual substance" (spiritus). The third perspective is directed beyond the soul itself, and in this respect the soul… is called "mind" (mens).
