About this artwork
In this abstract wooden sculpture, I unite raw naturalness with precise, handcrafted shaping. I work from a single piece of wood, so that an elongated, smoothly finished form rises from the organic, powerful base. I deliberately leave the visible cracks, grain, and textures intact—they tell the story of the material. I carve the geometric openings in the upper part to capture light and lend the sculpture an architectural tension. For me, the result…
is an object reminiscent of a contemporary totem, while simultaneously retaining something ritualistic and timeless.
