About this artwork
In the glow of a digital sunset, a female figure stands out, combining pop innocence and artificial magnetism. Her blond hair, cut with cartoon geometry, is tinged with pink shades, while her purple gaze captures the viewer with a hypnotic sweetness. She is a timeless icon, a symbol of a constructed and desired femininity, perfectly inserted into the logic of the new aesthetic idols. The blurred background, suspended between day and night, amplifies… the sense of unreality: everything is perfect, smooth, shiny. Yet, behind the beauty, a silent question can be perceived: are we looking at her, or is she looking at us, a reflection of our obsessions? A work that seduces and questions between pop style and postmodern melancholy. errealbanese 2025
My name is Reginaldo Albanese, professionally known as errealbanese. My artistic research explores the relationship between the sacred, identity, and image in an era in which the face no longer represents the individual, but rather the collective myth. I use digital technology as a revelatory medium: each work does not describe reality, but the fracture that generates it. I work in one-off editions on Dibond metal with a museum-quality plexiglass finish, and in some cases on wood with acrylic accents. My main series—Traghettamenti, Ritratti Impossibili, In Principio C'era il Corpo, Bang Fumetti d'Autore, Frammenti Sacri, Sovranità, and Maschere—explore the face as an icon, not an identity. I exhibit on Singulart with collectors in Europe, America, and Asia. I was selected for 100 Artists of Italy 2025 and awarded as a UK Artist—Top 10 London, with publication in L'Espresso. I believe that art does not reproduce the world: it questions it and re-establishes it.
