Could it be that in the future the Earth will be inhabited by creatures that have become a symbiosis of living beings and computers, integrated into an all-encompassing network?
My Crazy Creatures combine strange creatures, computer technology, and nature to create "crazy" figures. The use of unusual materials (play dough, dried flowers, circuit boards, etc.) combined with the bright colors makes the creatures appear whimsical, bizarre, and eccentric… at first glance.
A second look reveals a recurring element: computer circuit boards protruding from the creatures become visible, indicating an AI-controlled inner workings.
The setting—like a stage—reinforces the impression that each scene is intended to be depicted. Questions arise:
What's happening here? What play is being performed?
Who are the protagonists, what do they represent, do they stand for something?
What preceded this scene?
How does the story continue?
Reinhard Dobat, an independent sculptor with a background in organizational development, creates rough, expressive works using techniques such as Neo-Brut and Bricolage. His application of diverse materials in mixed-media techniques results in figurative or more abstract representations. His art, inspired by external experiences and challenges, is an emotional revelation of the creative process, in which the unexpected becomes visible and new forms are brought to life.
