About this artwork
This work stems from a deep desire to explore the hidden connection between visible life and its subterranean roots. Using acrylic, oil, and ink, I sought to capture the duality between the tangible and the symbolic, creating a world where nature reveals itself as surreal and vibrant.
A forest emerges from the canvas with quiet intensity: tall, gnarled trunks rise like guardians, textured in earthy brown with a tactile relief, silhouetted against… a vibrant turquoise sky, crisscrossed by green, black, and ochre waves that meander like veins or echoes of wind. Below, roots unfurl in dark, cracked soil, an inverted mirror of the invisible foliage, uniting the profound with the sublime in a single breath. It is not a distant landscape: it is the earth itself made paint, raw, connected, with throbbing layers and colors that vibrate between the organic and the abstract. A forest not to be contemplated in silence, but which invites you to feel its subterranean pulse and its yearning for the sky.
