About this artwork
Resurrection
The work presents an imposing image of the risen Christ, located at the absolute center of the composition. With his arms outstretched and his head slightly bowed, his posture is reminiscent of the cross, but here there is no suffering: the figure seems to levitate, serene and powerful, suspended in the air, like a bridge between heaven and earth. The body, painstakingly realistic, is covered only with a white cloth. But what makes… it unique is its partial transparency: in areas of the torso and legs, the flesh becomes translucent, revealing the architectural structures in the background. This transparency is not a merely technical effect, but a profound symbol: the human body dissolving into sacred geometry, matter transforming into light and space, man becoming the universal essence.
Joan Soler Riera, born in Barcelona, is a self-taught artist who excels especially in oil and acrylic painting, although he also explores sculpture, photography, and writing. His primary medium is realism, incorporating hyperrealistic, surrealistic, and occasionally abstract elements, achieving an eclectic and innovative style. His work conveys admiration for the classics and nature, inviting the viewer to discover perspectives and imagine unique and profound worlds.
