About this artwork
That was a quick moment of inspiration as I started painting a portrait of a woman and decided to take another direction! Yes, this happens a lot. This painting tells about moments of anger, where one remembers all bad thoughts at once. I decided to recreate the feeling with warm naughty colors and brush strokes in front of the face with the purpose of adding some positive energy to those negative moments. Let's be honest... We all need such moments… to be able to think clearly afterwards.
This artwork was developed over two years and was finished in 2022.
Rim Elias, an architect, painter and photographer with a war-torn past, employs abstract art and portraiture. With a predilection for faces bathed in light and shadow, Elias employs pencil, water, and acrylic to produce her emotive and exploratory pieces. The nuances in her work mirror deeply embedded feelings of sadness, effectively narrating the humanity's tale through the lens of vulnerability and beauty.
