About this artwork
"Orante" - Black-coated steel sculpture
A piece of profound symbolic and aesthetic significance, Orante is a sculpture that transcends the material to connect with the essence of human spirituality. Its abstract yet recognizable form represents a figure in an attitude of prayer, a universal gesture present in all religions and traditions, uniting humanity in a single act of introspection and connection with the transcendent.
The black-brushed… steel gives the work a sober and timeless presence, while its strong volumes and well-defined edges evoke the strength and honesty of Brutalist architecture. With a minimalist and powerful aesthetic, Orante becomes a visual manifestation of the purity of form and the power of contemplation.
Ideal for reflection spaces, galleries, or private collections seeking pieces with meaning and depth.

« The investigation of space and form, close to primitive and essential art, is my engine of exploration and work. The attempt to achieve a pure form that reaches the subconscious of the viewer because it is capable of summarizing something universal. »
Roberto Canduela is an experienced Spanish sculptor with extensive national exhibition experience. Spring-boarding from the idea that our bodies limit and delimit us-both physically and mentally-he composes works with anthropomorphic references and a high degree of abstraction. He additionally experiments with architectural forms that generate fascinating spaces and gaps, and constantly dances between heavy and the light.
