About this artwork
The Lookup series is a collection of photographs that captures the dreamy and abstract quality of refracted light at the interface of air and water. By focusing on the way light bends and scatters as it passes through water, the series deconstructs and reimagines the scenes above the surface of the water, transforming them into dreamlike compositions that are both familiar and otherworldly. The photographs in this series often feature people or objects…
interacting with this refracted light, creating a sense of depth and movement that adds to the dreamy atmosphere.

« I switched from science to art to make people dream. I love to make reality look surreal in order to challenge the mind and be more open to the world around us. »
Robin Cerutti is a prize-winning photographer based in Canada whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Mexico, France, Belgium, and the United States. He employs photography as a medium to escape and challenge the first perception of reality. While Cerutti does not convey any outright theories in his art, his credits his physicist background as playing a major role in his artistic expression. His goal is reached is his compositions cause a "dreamy state" in viewers.
