About this artwork
In this work, I use watercolor and gold to explore the beauty and resilience of the human spirit. Inspired by the Japanese technique of kintsugi, which celebrates scars and imperfections as part of an object's history, I represent a female figure in a state of serene acceptance. The golden cracks and delicate latticework of the decorative background symbolize how our experiences and wounds strengthen and beautify us. This painting is not only a tribute… to inner strength, but also invites you to bring a message of hope and rebirth to any space.
Through watercolor I explore memory, childhood that still dwells within us and that which remains in the human experience.
I am an artist from Seville and I work mainly with watercolor on paper.
My practice focuses on portraiture and the human figure within contemporary watercolor, exploring the relationship between color, atmosphere, gesture, and presence.
The childhood that still inhabits us and that which remains articulate the line of research that I develop in my recent large format watercolor works.
